Advanced Computer Computer Advanced Monitor Monitor Turtle

Once you have downloaded and ran the installer the OS will be ready to use.

It will startup automatically with your computer or turtle.

Use UP/DOWN to move through menus, and press ENTER to select items.

Start-up:
The installer will automatically setup TurtleSHELL to boot with the OS (It will create a backup if it exists however). If you wish to change the startup behavior, you will need to do it manually for now.

Screen Savers:
If you don't touch the menus for a while, the default screensaver (if not blank) will launch and display on all screens. Edit the default screen saver in os.settings, or set it to nothing "" to disable.

User Configurable Menu Items (via os.settings):
1> Games/Apps - This menu gives you access to built in stuff :)
2> Screen Savers - Fun apps included with the OS (feel free to make your own based on these!!)
3> My Custom Menu - A blank template ready for you to edit!
(Hint: You can add more menus!!)

Hard-coded Menu Items:
C> Console - This is useful if you need to quickly run command-line apps.
L> Lock Screen - Starts the screensaver (will initiate optional password in future)
U> Update OS - Forces TurtleSHELL to update itself, the included apps, and the market
R> Restart - Restarts the Computer/Turtle
S> Shutdown - Powers off the Computer/Turtle

This is amazing work, I have one request however, what do I need to change to adjust the time zone so the time in the top right is displayed correctly for my country?

Wow, I will download this :D thank you very much!!

Elementalguy2, the time in the top right is the time of your world in Minecraft, not the real time

I really like this OS but can you configure TACO to work on monitors in the next update please

by ratchetgame9806/12/2013 12:14:47 pm

I also see several error messages during install, then the startup fails because the file doesn't exist

The install is not working... but if you grab all the files individually and put them in a /turtleshell folder (the path is hardcoded somewhere), it works fine.

For some reason when I try to type install it says: "install:163: attempt to call nil" WHAT DOES THAT MEAN! Is the code wrong?

So, I got a program from this site that was an "antivirus" called titan and it made screwed things up, and when I recovered the system by booting off of a disk and deleting titan, turtleShell worked fine except that when i press see i get a flash of "launching console... type "exit" to exit" and then it returns to the main menu of the os
